Rocky Mountain Blizzard

with No Comments

Alright, I guess the cat is officially out of the burlap sack. We are proud to announce we are carrying Rocky Mountain Bicycles as of late 2015, just in time for the new lineups of 2016! To say we're excited to bring in Rocky Mountain--one of the longest standing and well respected brands in mountain biking--is an understatement. Since we're speeding head first into winter it should be no surprise we are here to introduce the Rocky Mountain Blizzard -50.

If the white paint with Athabaskan totem figures don't tickle your fancy, surely the hydroformed aluminum junctions and smooth welds do. In fact, this is one hell of a pretty bicycle. Don't be mistaken, this is no normal fat bike. Combine the trail geometry and Rockshox Bluto 120mm fork and you realize this is a mountain bike first, fat bike second...and we like that. For those of us who prefer to get a little rowdy, they even include internal stealth routing for a dropper post. YES, on a fat bike...

The New Rocky Mountain Blizzard -50

As of today our first Rocky Mountain customer and avid cyclist, Kim, took our her brand spankin' new Blizzard up Aspen Vista to see what's what. What's the word? "It feels like a mountain bike, but with larger tires. I mean that in a good way. It handles and pedals like my hardtail or even full suspension 29er, but with the added ability for float. I think we're going to get along very nicely this winter."

Curious? Here's the breakdown:

  • Hydroformed aluminum frame, suspension corrected with 197mm rear axle and tapered headtube
  • Shimano XT rear derailleur and SLX shifter
  • Shimano SLX brakeset
  • Raceface crankset with 24t front ring (think climbing!)
  • Rockshox Bluto 120mm with fancy little RM logo
  • Sun Ringle Muelfut tubeless ready rim
  • Vee Rubber Bulldozer 4.7 tires
  • Curated mix of Raceface and Rocky Mountain finishes

How does it all add up? Come and find out. We are looking forward to the new year with a great new brand!
